Carlos Wesley Bott- MSC

Games Programming Lecturer  - Full-Time

Carlos Bott is the games developer and founder of Triluminary Design Studios, a game development company focusing in iOS and Android Game Development. He also serves as a independent consultant and conducts workshops and lectures in game development, programming, networking,  and project management.  

He has been a Professor of Computer Science for the University of Maryland, NHTV-Breda University of Allied Sciences, and the University of the Philippines, as well as a corporate trainer for 15 years in the Philippines, Japan, the Middle East, United States and Europe.

Daniel Rucerito - Associate Degree

Daniel Rucerito is an American who moved to Singapore in 2006. He has over 12 years of professional experience throughout various sectors of the Pro Audio and Music industries. During his career he has held many positions ranging from Sound Designer, Recording/Live Sound Engineer, Band Manager, Manufacturer’s Representative all the way to International Sales Director.

From working at independent record labels and post production facilities to A/V rental companies and pro audio manufacturers, Daniel has gained invaluable experience at many levels throughout various areas of the industry and has a firm understanding of what skills and talents are essential in order to be successful in the industry’s ever changing marketplace.

Daniel graduated with a Recording Arts Degree in 1997 from Full Sail University in Orlando, Florida (USA). During his studies there he also obtained Course Director Awards for both MIDI and Digital Audio Workstation courses. Due to his ever growing passion for the industry, Daniel wanted to bring his career experience and knowledge to the educational sector of the industry, which drove him to acquire his ACTA certification (Advanced Certificate in Training & Assessment) from Sigma Solutions in Singapore in 2009.

Patrick Fernando - BA 

Audio Lecturer - Full-Time

Having started his career in 1988, Patrick began work as a Studio Assistant in an Analog Studio and has since moved on to the Digital realm.

Over the years, he has worked on countless Radio Programs, TV & Radio Commercials, made for TV and Corporate Documentaries. He carries with hima vast amount of experience from the Broadcast Industry as well as knowledge from working with the Advertising Industry.

Patrick’s forte is in the area of Audio Post Production for TV and Film and is well versed with the standards and practices of the Broadcast Industry.

He has also been playing the drums professionally for 33 years and has played with various bands in Singapore. 

Imran Ahmad - BA

Digital Film Lecturer  - Part-Time

Best known for his ‘Dutch Tilt’ technique, Imran Ahmad is a Nikon Professional Photographer and Film Lecturer at SAE Institute located in Singapore. His diversified portfolio includes commercial, editorial, portrait and underwater photographic assignments covering vast areas of Asia and other parts of the world.

His images have been published in countless leading media throughout the region including Asian Diver, Scuba Diver Australasia, EZDive, Sport Diving Australia, Sport Diving & Scuba Diver (US editions) and Mediacorp’s  ‘A slice of Life’ just to name a few. Imran has also been given the opportunity to showcase his works in photo exhibitions at DEEP (Jakarta) and MIDE (Kuala Lumpur).

Besides having conducted brief photo workshops/talks at various dives shows around the region, he has also been part of the judging team for various underwater photo competitions as well as Nikon’s ‘Big Shot’ Competition.

Gerard Richard William - BA

Gerard Richard William graduated with a degree in Bachelors of Recording Arts, Middlesex, UK. He has been involved in the media industry at various levels, for the past 3 years as a videographer, photographer, trainer, on location sound recordist, live sound engineer and a studio engineer.

His teaching experience started with training students on photography and Video production. In addition, he started out with SAE Institute as a Technical Support Officer, assisting students and lecturers.

This summer, he will be participating in the Singapore-MIT GAMBIT Game Lab as a mentor, assisting the interns in game audio production. In addition, Gerard is a vocalist and guitarist and has performed in live gigs locally and regionally.

Geng Yuan - BE

Animation Lecturer  - Part-Time

Originally from China, Geng Yuan was schooled in industrial design but through years of professional experience, has picked up skills that have established him as an outstanding multimedia designer. He brings a wealth of experience – including skills in art content creation, pipeline building, game design, modeling, texturing, rigging, animation, special effects, scripting, and assets optimisation – to the SAE Institute Animation department.

Prior to joining SAE Institute, Geng Yuan has worked with renowned industry players such as Silicon Illusions, Envisage Reality, Sparky Animation and Emerging Entertainment. At Envisage Reality he also served as Technical Art Director.

Geng Yuan earned a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, majoring in Industrial Design, from Harbin University of Science and Technology, China.

Lionel Cheok - B.Sc

Film Lecturer - Part-Time

A TV broadcast veteran with over 15 years of experience, Lionel won his very first TV award nomination for his documentary series 'Heritage' back in 1998 from both the Asian TV Awards and the New York Festivals. Since then, his portfolio has expanded to producing numerous local and regional broadcast series, media consulting, organising film festivals, to even the setting up of Singapore's second TV station, among others.

Just before his current involvement in being part of setting up a brand new internet TV service, Lionel also executive produced a series of travel and culture series for Channel News Asia that has been distributed to over 12 countries including Sundance TV. His last photography series also won the World Medal award at the 2010 New York Festivals. He also delights in sharing most of his experiences and hence teaches whenever he can.


Danien Chee - B.Sc.

Danien Chee is the founder of Cabal Entertainment Software. He teaches game development and trains professional teams in designing and developing games by coaching them through the development and thought processes.

He has worked in the U.S. game industry on franchises such as Star Trek and Dungeons & Dragons as well as original works, including AAA RPG and action products on PC, Xbox, and PS2.


Ian Ang - B.Sc(CompSci)

Animation Lecturer - Part-Time

Ian is the founder of Autonomic Arts, using animation and creative media for social causes. With more to give, he also serves as a CG consultant and conducts workshops and lectures in animation, visual effects, art direction, acting, story and drama.

From a humble newspaper cartoonist since his undergraduate days studying computer science, Ian has combined a strong technical and business foundation to complement artistic flair and undertake lead positions in broadcast animation and interactive media. His roles for the 3D animated TV series "Master Raindrop", "Zigby" and "Dinosaur Train" include series CG Director, Animation Director, and Layout Supervisor. He has also formerly served as Director, Multimedia in advertising and interactive video programs for Andersen Consulting, Pan Pacific Hotel, Nestle, Development Bank of Singapore, Mauritius Commercial Bank, Caltex and a trail of delighted clients.
