Seminar: "How to Develop Concepts & Ideas" by Mr Tan Chin Khoon 陈政全

This talk aims to inspire students to develop new concepts & ideas to stimulate the creative thing process in the new media industry through the use of the brainstorming techniques, idea research and generation methods, creative thinking skills and critical thinking skills with bias to application in visual communication. It also highlights the importance of experimenting and having fun in creation process. Mr Tan will share innovative methods to be creative while doing media projects during the workshop. He will also share with the students on his work experience.
Mr Tan Chin Khoon - Started as Junior Art Director with Din Design Advertising after graduated from Nanyang Academic of Fine Arts (NAFA) with Diploma in Graphic Design (Applied Arts) in 1985. Over past twenty years, I have worked in some major companies such as Singapore Broadcasting Corporation – SBC (now: MediaCorp Pte Ltd) in Broadcasting and Home Box Office Asia in Cable Channel before started academic career with Nanyang Polytechnic in 1995. Joined as VP Production, YR Asia Satellite TV Pte Ltd in 2008, oversee the entire broadcast post production.
Graduated with a MA degree - Design in Interactive Media from Middlesex University/ British Telecom, UK. I have worked on local/overseas project development, project management, co-ordination and pre & post production for advertising design, interactive web portal, digital animation and effects, games design, broadcasting, event opening etc. major projects such as General Election, National Day Parade, National Day Rally, Beijing Olympic 2008 Official Webpage Design, Michael Jackson’s Asia Concert Tour, Drama Series, Variety Show,s, TV Commercials etc.
